Open Day to be held at the AGRC stadium at the Manukau Sports Bowl, Te Irirangi Drive, Manukau on Saturday 23rd November.
Come along and see what happens on a typical race day. Club Ambassadors will give a tour of the different areas at the track.
There will be three areas of the track people will be introduced to;
1. The Kennel block area, with a talk on race day kenneling and pre race vet checks
2. A visit to a starting box where a race day starter will explain the protocols of starting and demonstrate the boxes opening and the speeds the dogs achieve in acceleration from the boxes.
3. A visit to the podium area to view a lure arm, explain lure driving techniques and give people an opportunity to place their dogs on the podium for photos.
Between these visits will be a walk around the track and park area. There will also be a welcome talk from AGRC's Club President.
Catering will be available for purchase - coffee, cold drinks or morning tea
The day is all about our greyhounds and the bringing together of both the racing and retirement communities. We also welcome anyone considering adopting a greyhound.
Honorary hounds are welcome to attend also
With thanks to Dave Byrn for organising this event and inviting GAP to attend.
