How else can I help?

There are lots of ways you can help us with our annual appeal. You can simply donate here: www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz/donate or fundraise for us. No matter if you can make it to the street or not, you can set up your own "virtual bucket" fundraising page, allowing your family and friends to donate to help more Greyhounds find a loving home.

There are many ways you can help us raise donations within your own community. The fundraising options are endless: at work, the gym or at home -together with your family and friends or choose a challenge for your yourself. We have put together a list of fundraising ideas below.

You can set up your own Givealittle page on behalf of GAP NZ here, and deposit your funds straight onto this page. This is a great way to show friends and family exactly how much you raised, as well as streamlining the process for us.

You can also transfer your raised donations to our bank account. Our bank account details are: BNZ bank, Greyhound Programme Adoption Trust, 02 – 0500 – 0931039 - 00

If you would like to use a poster for your fundraising, you can print out our annual appeal poster here.

Here are some of the most popular fundraising ideas:

Host an event - a brunch, pizza night or BBQ party

Host a brunch, pizza night, BBQ party of a coffee catch up. It’s the perfect excuse to gather family and friends to enjoy some delicious food. Ask attendees to make a donation in exchange for their meal

Challenge yourself

Ask friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you while you complete a challenge. It could be:

- Giving up something up that you consume a lot of such as alcohol, coffee, meat, fast food, sugar etc.

- An athletic challenge such as running, walking, swimming or biking to work every day.

Garage sale

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure! If you have things around the house that you no longer use or need this could be the perfect opportunity to clear some clutter while helping out Greyhounds As Pets. Reach out to friends and family to see if they have any unwanted items to add to your garage sale.

Bake sale

This one’s great for both kids and adults alike, who doesn’t love a sweet treat? Bake your best muffins, cake or favourite slice and take it to work for morning tea. Ask for a donation in return for one of your tasty baked goods! Kids want to get involved? With the permission of the school, and the help of a few class mates, set up a table at lunch time and ask for a gold coin donation in return for a sweet treat.

Finn's Fudge

If you don't feel like baking, but would still like to satisfy your friend's and family's sweet tooth, you can fundraise for us through Finn's Fudge. These delicious sweet treats have been popular with GAP supporters in the past, and are easy to take to work, school and social events. They also make great Valentine's Day gifts! At work

You can even fundraise for us at work:

- Hold a donation casual Friday

- Guess how many lollies in the jar

- Hold a bake sale

- Ask your boss to donate a raffle or match giving

- Or simply just print out an appeal poster and put it with a collection box at the reception desk for the week! (maybe just check with your boss first)

- You can also ask your employer about match giving - many employers will match the fund raised.

At the Gym

If you go to the gym, get friends and family to sponsor you on the treadmill, rowing machine, stepper and in the pool for your workouts.
