How else can I help?

There are lots of ways you can help us with our annual appeal. You can simply donate here: www.greyhoundsaspets.org.nz/donate or fundraise for us. Whether you can make it to the street appeal or not, you can set up your own "virtual bucket" fundraising page, allowing your family and friends to donate to help more Greyhounds find a loving home. This is a great way to put a personal touch on your fundraiser and encourage others to do the same.

There are many ways you can help us raise donations within your own community. The fundraising options are endless: at work, the gym or at home. Together with your family and friends, or choose a challenge for your yourself. We have put together a list of fundraising ideas below.

You can also transfer your raised donations to our bank account. Our bank account details are: BNZ bank, Greyhound Programme Adoption Trust, 02 – 0500 – 0931039 - 00

If you would like to use a poster for your fundraising, you can print out our annual appeal poster here.

Here are some popular fundraising ideas:

Make a brunch for friends and family

Hosting a brunch (or a lunch or dinner party) is the perfect excuse to gather family and friends to enjoy some delicious food.

1. Plan your menu

2. Send out invites to family, friends and co-workers. We have created an example which you can write your own details on. Check it out here. You can create your own, for free, using Canva.

3. Ask attendees to make a donation for their plate

4. Get cooking & enjoy!

Challenge yourself

Ask friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you while you complete a challenge.

1. Decide on your challenge

2. Set up your own GiveaLittle fundraising page here.

3. Promote your fundraiser via social media, email and word of mouth and ask that your friends and family sponsor you

4. Complete your challenge! Share your progress as you go with you friends and family

Bake sale

This one’s great for both kids and adults alike, who doesn’t love a sweet treat? Bake your best muffins, cake or favourite slice and take it to work for morning tea. Ask for a donation in return for one of your tasty baked goods! Kids want to get involved? With the permission of the school, and the help of a few class mates, set up a table at lunch time and ask for a gold coin donation in return for a sweet treat.

Run a quiz night

Quiz nights are not only fun and social, but they are also a great way of fundraising! If you are interested in running a quiz night to support GAP, check out this awesome guide put together by one of our event coordinators here

At work

You can even fundraise for us at your workplace. Here are some ideas:

1. Hold a donation casual Friday

2. Guess how many lollies in the jar

3. Ask your boss to donate a raffle or match giving

4. Print out an appeal poster and display is with a collection box at the reception desk for the week! (make sure you check with your boss first)
